US Patent Office Grants Patent to MokaFive for Sharing Live Appliances


Nov 19, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MokaFive announced it has been granted a US patent on Sharing Live Appliances, US patent 8,266,576.

In a release dated Nov. 14, the Company said that it covers key areas of publishing, subscribing, updating and playing live appliances or virtual machines. It builds upon the original filings made by the founders of MokaFive, who initially developed the technology as part of a Stanford University project. MokaFive has an additional 18 patents pending on related technologies.



"With the addition of this new patent to our portfolio, MokaFive holds much of the key intellectual property around the client-side or local-execution model of desktop virtualization," said John Whaley, co-founder and CTO, MokaFive.

MokaFive is a virtualization solution that allows IT to centrally manage, update, and secure a distributed desktop environment from a single console.
