Upgraded Camera Series Offers WDR - Dynamic Capture for Usable Images Even in Challenging Light Conditions and High-Quality Audio for Use with Audio Analytics

Axis Communications, the global leader in network video surveillance, is updating its popular AXIS Q17 Series with Wide Dynamic Range - Dynamic Capture for video with outstanding clarity and sharpness. The new models, AXIS Q1775 and AXIS Q1775-E, offer HDTV 1080p resolution, improved light sensitivity, day and night functionality and progressive output for exceptional quality images even of fast moving objects.

AXIS Q1775/-E features excellent two-way audio in 48 kHz for high quality recordings and use with audio analytics. Intelligent analytics allow operators to detect and manage a situation as it unfolds in addition to forensic analysis after an incident occurs. The high quality audio of AXIS Q1775/-E combined with a variety of audio analytics from Axis (News - Alert) partners can help alert operators to an incident earlier, giving them crucial time to react. Incidents often start with unusual sounds, such as a scream, explosion or gunshot, which video analytics alone cannot recognize, but audio analytics can.

"AXIS Q1775/-E has an identical form factor as the existing AXIS Q1755/-E, making it possible to easily upgrade existing video surveillance installations with Axis' latest technology, including WDR - Dynamic Capture and two-way audio," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications (News - Alert), Inc. "AXIS Q1775/-E can also easily be integrated with other products such as explosion-protected camera housings and pan/tilt solutions for added usbility."

The outdoor-ready AXIS Q1775-E is designed for security installations on buildings for monitoring entrances, exits and perimeters, and for pole mounting for video surveillance of parking lots or general city surveillance purposes. Axis' Arctic Temperature Control allows the IP66, IK10 and NEMA 4X-rated AXIS Q1775-E to operate at temperatures as low as -40 °F.

AXIS Q1775 and AXIS Q1775-E offer motion detection, active tampering alarm, shock detection and Gatekeeper-functionality (guarding a gate and zooming in on detected objects). They deliver multiple individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams at full frame rate and offer edge recording for optional on-camera storage of video footage. The cameras also support intelligent video applications, such as people counting, and AXIS Camera Application Platform and AXIS Video Hosting System, as well as open programming interfaces for software integration, including ONVIF.

AXIS Q1775 and AXIS Q1775-E are available through Axis' standard distribution channels at the suggested retail prices of $1,299 and $1,599, respectively.
