University of Rochester's New Prime Vendor Medical Supply Partnership with Medline to Create JobsMUNDELEIN, Ill. --(Business Wire)-- The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), an integrated academic health center, recently selected Medline Industries, Inc. as its prime vendor distributor for medical and surgical supplies. To help service URMC, as well as other healthcare providers in western and upstate New York, Medline will open a new 260,000-square-foot distribution center in Brockport, N.Y., 19 miles west of Rochester. Based in Mundelein, Ill., Medline is the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies in the United States. The new distribution center is scheduled to open this September and create approximately 40 new jobs for the area. The facility will be located at 1989 Transit Way in Brockport. The five-year agreement is expected to be worth approximately $250 million and provide URMC significant savings by driving distribution, product and supply chain efficiencies.
