David Buckel was named chief financial officer, and Tom Venable joins Savtira as chief revenue officer.
David Buckel Named Chief Financial Officer - Buckel is a veteran financial management expert with an extensive background working with Internet infrastructure, information technology and software companies. Throughout his career at pre-revenue start-up, revenue based start-up and longstanding companies; Buckel has made a major impact due to his extensive hands-on experience. From creating accounting and control systems to producing financial statements, operating metrics, dashboards, cash flow forecasts, budget processes and trend analysis, he has played critical roles in the growth of several organizations.
For more than 15 years, Buckel has served in the positions of chief financial officer for a number of public and private companies, including Internap Network Services, Ryla Inc., and AppliedTheory, Inc. He serves on the boards of directors and as audit committee chair of SouthPeak Gaming and Racemi, Inc., and serves as a director at zobee, Inc. Buckel received his MBA in operations management and finance from Syracuse University and a bachelor s degree in accounting from Canisius College. He is a Certified Management Accountant.
Tom Venable Named Chief Revenue Officer - Ecommerce industry veteran Venable brings a wealth of business-to-business (B2B) revenue development expertise to Savtira with specific experience launching disruptive technologies and products. Throughout his career he has pioneered the market development of fully-hosted ecommerce solutions, helping bring thousands of businesses online with first and second generation ecommerce and marketing platforms.
Venable served as senior vice president of business development of ecommerce platform provider Digital River, where revenue increased more than 400% during his tenure. Prior to joining Savtira, Venable was senior vice president of sales and marketing for Rainmaker Systems, which provides tele-sales and on-line selling and renewal solutions to the SMB market on behalf of technology manufacturers and software publishers.
