United States : PLATYPI buys FOURMETRICS [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Birmingham startup Platypi has purchased Birmingham-based software consultancy firm FourMetrics in a deal that will add a service branch to Platypi's operations.

Platypi was established by three preceding Microsoft engineers and the startup has created an enterprise-level mobile application development platform that allows designer and developers to create cross-platform apps for businesses.

Matt Landers, cofounder of Platypi stated: The whole purpose of acquiring FourMetrics was to accelerate our services program, which is there to help accelerate product sales. FourMetrics already had relationships with existing clients that we found valuable to use and this will help us grow the resource side of our company.

Already, Platypi has secured a few customers for their platform and will be eying bigger corporations down the road.

Landers said: Over the next 16 months we look to do a lot of the service and app development work where we are building apps. But towards the end of that period, we will focus more on consultancy and use architects to go into enterprises and work with their developers and train them to use our product.
