United States : GRAND JUNCTION approves deal to develop new sales tax management software system [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Grand Junction City Council has approved a deal for the development of a new sales tax management software system to assess the city revenue.

The deal will cost $165,000 and after they develop the system officials plan on asking other cities to try this new method by selling it.

City officials say this new software system will enable entrepreneurs to go online to access their account information, file their tax returns and track where the money is going toward.

Additionally a business owner may have the option to use the new software or the conventional manual method, , once the new system is established.



Enstrom Candies owner Jamee Simons, said : "We'll we have to investigate and see if it works for us. Our system right now is very complicated and cumbersome because of the different things that are taxed and not taxed.: According to other business owners, the new system will save time.

Brown Cycles owner Chris Brown said : "We used to drop it in the box y at night, 11:59 p.m. or whatever always at the last minute. But, now we will just be able to do it online from home in our pajamas, I guess that will be nice." The current sales tax software system was developed 14 years ago and the new system will start in 2015.
