The launch of the Wire & Cable Academy in the Middle East underlined Borouge s strong position as a leading provider of the latest innovative solutions for the wire and cable industry enhancing the durability and reliability of power networks in the region, said Hussain Sultan Lootah Senior Vice President Middle East Africa at Borouge.
Technical experts and international speakers participating in the event have shared their knowledge and know-how and enriched the event with their presentations which focused on energy cables, ranging from low and medium voltage to high and extra-high voltage cables. The participants highlighted the importance of launching the Wire & Cable Academy in the Middle East because it will help increase awareness of the performance and reliability of the existing power delivery infrastructure and gain a better appreciation of the opportunities and challenges that result from developing a more reliable network.
The Wire & Cable Academy concept was initiated by Borouge and Borealis in 2008 to facilitate knowledge sharing between key value chain stakeholders as well as to enhance industry standards and support future developments of innovative wire and cable solutions. Thus far, successful events have been held in Russia, Brazil, China, South Africa and the United States.
