Unisys Wins IT Outsourcing Services Contract from Hong Kong Judiciary
Unisys (News - Alert) will continue to assist Judiciary in pursuing its organizational mission
HONG KONG, May 7 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its Hong Kong subsidiary has signed an IT outsourcing services contract with Hong Kong Judiciary, the institution responsible for the administration of justice in Hong Kong.
After participating in the Judiciary's open tender exercise, Unisys was awarded the five-year contract, with an additional two-year option. The new contract, signed during end of 2007, replaces an earlier contract between Unisys and the Judiciary, which had been in place since 2001.
Under this new contract, Unisys will deliver IT outsourcing services, including ongoing application support and maintenance, network infrastructure, office automation and other IT services.
Unisys will work to strengthen its role as a strategic partner to the Judiciary by supporting the IT infrastructure day-to-day and providing advice on adopting IT to continually enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of court operations.
Unisys established a strong working relationship with the Judiciary during the previous contract. Under the new contract, Unisys will also support the Judiciary in seeking further breakthroughs in IT strategy, processes, solutions, and quality to increase the efficiency of court operations and better serve the community.
