Unipart Technology Logistics: Unipart Technology Logistics helps Sony Ericsson improve customer service

Aug 26, 2010 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Unipart Technology Logistics (UTL) today announced that it has been awarded the highest level of repair accreditation by Sony Ericsson, enabling UTL to handle repairs for all of Sony Ericsson's handsets. UTL's high standard of preparation enabled Sony Ericsson's Certified Level 4 Advanced Technology Repair Centre accreditation to be achieved in just twenty four hours. UTL is one of only four repair companies in the UK to attain this level.

Michael Richardson, Director of Sales & Marketing at UTL commented: "When someone drops or breaks their mobile phone, they want it back as soon as possible. With this additional accreditation, UTL can handle all of Sony Ericsson's phone repairs centrally. It takes UTL just 30 minutes to complete a typical phone repair." Previously a small number of phones had to be repaired by a specialist third party. This increased the amount of time taken to repair handsets, as well as incurring shipping costs. The Certified Level 4 Advanced Technology Repair Centre accreditation enables UTL to handle all activity in house, including complex chip and circuit board repairs.

This, in turn, reduces cost, carbon emissions and the amount of time before a customer receives their phone back in perfect condition.

Robert King of B2X Care Solutions, Sony-Ericsson's accreditation auditor, said in his report on UTL: "I was very impressed with the professionalism and clear skill of your staff... You have a clear insight into the needs of your customers." Sony-Ericsson's Customer Service Manager, Gary Acors, commented: "This accreditation is an example of Unipart's commitment to continuous improvement. By training their staff to manage even the most complex repairs UTL has demonstrated a desire to do better for the end-customer and everyone wins: Sony-Ericsson receives a more cost effective service and customers are parted from their phones for the shortest time possible." -ends- About Sony Ericsson The Liquid Identity logo is a trademark or registered trademark of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB.
