UnifyCloud Demonstrates CloudRecon® Integration with the SAM Live! Managed Service

UnifyCloud LLC and SAM Live! GmbH announced a global technology partnership at Microsoft's (News - Alert) Worldwide Partner Conference where customers of the SAM Live! Managed Service can link to the CloudRecon® Service to assess Cloud readiness and Cybersecurity risks associated with their current IT environment. Both services are hosted on Microsoft Azure and use SQL Azure and Azure Active Directory in the integrated solution.

CloudRecon, part of the CloudAtlas® suite of services, helps IT organizations, systems integrators, or IT consultants define Cloud strategies; move IT infrastructure, business applications, databases, and workloads to the Cloud efficiently; and ensure that proper enterprise IT controls are followed.

Through a direct registration link, SAM Live! customers sign-up for the CloudRecon Service; select SAM Live! as their data source; and, once authenticated using Azure Active Directory, import their inventory data to CloudRecon for Cloud readiness and Cybersecurity risk analysis. SAM Live! and CloudRecon customers have access to:

  • A modernization report that analyzes an on-premises IT environment to identify Cloud potential applications, the readiness to utilize SaaS (News - Alert) solutions, and opportunities to move VMs and storage to the Cloud;
  • A cost-estimate, based on performance data captured through SAM Live!, to determine Cloud Services needed to move from an on-premises environment to the Cloud;
  • A Cybersecurity Risk Analysis in areas such as authentication, data/web browser protection, and backup/recovery.

Within the CloudAtlas suite, CloudReon provides the roadmap to the Cloud looking at technical feasibility, cost and Cybersecurity risk. For Cloud-potential applications identified in CloudRecon, a second subscription service, CloudPilot® will estimate the cost to modernize applications to run in the Cloud.

CloudPilot is for organizations adopting a DevOps model to utilize code block-level recommendations to modernize applications and create a test environment prior to Cloud deployment. CloudSupervisor®, a third subscription service, monitors applications against IT policies and controls at the application, Cloud subscription, or enterprise level.

The roll-out of this joint solution is a major milestone in UnifyCloud's global strategy. "Our collaboration with SAM Live! is an important step to leverage various IT discovery data sources," said Vivek Bhatnagar, UnifyCloud Co-Founder and CTO. "Starting with CloudRecon analysis, SAM Live! customers can quickly move to leverage the value of Cloud services in a safe and well-managed way."

"Our SAM Live! customers will receive additional value by using CloudRecon® to analyze both their readiness to seize the opportunities in the Cloud and the Cybersecurity risks they face with the IT asset data they already have in SAM Live!," said Dieter Muller, SAM Live! co-founder and CEO. "This is a fast and seamless way to leverage our managed service."
