UNICOM(R) Global Acquires solidDB(R) From IBM(R) Corp.(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MISSION HILLS, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/14 -- UNICOM Systems, Inc., a Division of UNICOM Global, today announced that it has acquired the solidDB® In-memory relational database management system from International Business Machines Corp. (IBM). The acquisition includes both the solidDB software and the solidDB Universal Cache™ feature. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The current transaction follows the successful acquisition and transition of a worldwide customer base and technology from the December 31, 2013 acquisition of the Cognos Application Development Tools suite from IBM. Additionally, UNICOM has executed a Transition Services Agreement with IBM whereby certain transition services will be provided by IBM to and on behalf of UNICOM to allow for a smooth and seamless transition for all of the solidDB customers worldwide.
