Trusteer Receives "Best of the Web" Award from Online Banking Report
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Trusteer, the customer protection company for online businesses, today announced that Online Banking Report (OBR), the exclusive monthly report on internet banking products and markets, honored Trusteer Rapport with its exclusive "OBR Best of the Web" award for raising the bar on fraud prevention and easing consumer concerns over online banking privacy. Rapport is profiled in the September 15 issue of OBR which evaluates several new technologies designed to reduce fraud losses and improve customer perceptions of banks' efforts to improve security.
Quick Installation and Low Impact
OBR also named ING Direct bank as co-winner of the OBR Best of the Web Award for its role in deploying Rapport. Last May, ING Direct partnered with Trusteer to offer Rapport software free to its customers in the United States. Given its success, ING Direct rolled out Rapport to its Canadian customers last month.

Rapport Protects Infected Computers
Trusteer Rapport complements existing desktop security products and strong authentication solutions by taking a new approach - protecting the consumer's transactions even when their computers may already be infected with malware. Rapport creates a "secure-pipe" within the computer that protects all information flowing between the machine and the destination web site. This "secure pipe" prevents malware from stealing confidential information from the consumer, conducting unintended transactions on the consumer's behalf, or tricking the consumer to enter their private banking or e-commerce credentials into look-alike websites.
