TransUnion Approved by SAFE-BioPharma Trust FrameworkTransUnion, a leading global provider of information and risk management solutions, has been approved as an Identity Manager under SAFE-BioPharma FICAM Trust Framework 2.0. The new status qualifies TransUnion to provide identity-proofing services to organizations utilizing the SAFE-BioPharma digital identity management standard, the only global digital identity and signature standard designed specifically for the needs of the biopharmaceutical industry. SAFE-BioPharma is interoperable with the U.S. Federal Government's Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM) framework, meaning that any identity credential compliant with the SAFE-BioPharma standard will be trusted by any U.S. federal agency. With its approval under SAFE-BioPharma FICAM Trust Framework 2.0, TransUnion now meets the electronic authentiation guidelines for Levels of Assurance 2 and 3 (LOA2 and LOA3) under NIST special publication 800-63-2. SAFE-BioPharma defines rules, policies and specific technologies that result in each cyber identity credential being tightly bound to its user's proven identity. These include thorough identity proofing -- the process of collecting attributes using a variety of legally binding methods. Among the methods used are Knowledge Based Authentication (KBA), the computer generated questions based on public databases (e.g., past addresses, mortgage payments, etc.). TransUnion is a provider of data used in Identity proofing and KBA.
