The Transport Workers Union of America and the Communications Workers of America to be affiliated

Feb 10, 2012 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- The Communications Workers of America (CWA) announced on Friday that it has voted with the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) to work together in a new affiliation, which was unanimously endorsed by the executive boards of both unions.

CWA and TWU represent over 120,000 airline workers and are affiliating to support bargaining and organising at American Airlines, as well as campaigns at other airlines.

TWU International President James C Little said the two unions share "common values and principles that should intuitively benefit our members through working together." Comments on this story may be sent to aii.feedback@m2.com
