The Fierce Innovation Awards is a peer and analyst reviewed awards program from the publisher of FierceWireless (News - Alert) and FierceTelecom. The awards identify and showcase outstanding service and equipment developments unveiled during the past 12 months along with those who make them, install them, and deploy them, and seeks out the most evolutionary and revolutionary technologies and services in the industry.

The FTC (News - Alert) received 4.5 million robocall complaints in 2017, up from 3.4 million the prior year, which helps to explain why the robocall epidemic is squarely in the crosshairs of wireless operators. Enhanced Caller ID is a TNS-powered app for wireless carriers that leverages big data analytics and machine learning to provide subscribers with far richer and more valuable information on incoming calls based on real-time events. The solution works on over 200M+ devices across 500+ makes and models.

"We are thrilled to be recognized alongside some of the telecom industry's most innovative vendors, operators and service providers committed to next generation business and consumer offerings," said Bill Versen, Chief Product Officer at TNS. "It is particularly rewarding to win an award for customer engagement, as it reaffirms our focus on tapping data analytics to enhance the user experience."

Enhanced Caller ID is a key component of TNS' Call Guardian robocall detection solution, which is used by the majority of leading US wireless service providers as well as US landline providers. A recent independent study conducted by Mind Commerce identified TNS' solution as the best in correctly identifying problematic telephone numbers and best overall accuracy.

Finalists' applications were reviewed by an exclusive panel of executives from major telecommunications companies. All applications were evaluated based on the following criteria: competitive advantage, ease of use/return on investment, effectiveness, financial impact, and true innovation.
