Tourism Australia chief marketing officer resigns [EMBIN (Emerging Markets Business Information News]

(EMBIN (Emerging Markets Business Information News) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tourism Australia's chief marketing officer, Nick Baker, has resigned after 7 years in the role to pursue new opportunities, Travel Today can exclusively reveal.

Baker delivered a “string of successful campaigns†during his tenure at TA guiding the country's tourism marketing strategy, Tourism Australia managing director, John O'Sullivan said.

“Nick has led a marketing team which has helped deliver arguably three of our most successful global campaigns, including There's Nothing Like Australia, Best Jobs in the World and, of course, Restaurant Australia,†O'Sullivan said.

“All of these campaigns have been meticulously planned, well executed, and, importantly, done so through strong teamwork and successful partnership with industry and our state and territory partners. Another major achievement, for which Nick should be very proud, has been the creation of one of the world's most successful social media marketing strategies.†'The Best Job in the World' has been highly regarded as one of the world's most successful social media marketing strategies, taking home numerous awards including two top awards at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in 2009.

Baker will stay with TA until the end of January 2015 to oversee the completion of Restaurant Australia and other key projects, as well as to enable the organisation to find a replacement.

Named as the 2014 'marketer of the year' by the Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA), Baker said his role at TA had been the “most significant†of his professional career.
