Top Artists Turn to Zannel to Connect With Fans Through Viral Mobile Distribution of Content
MENLO PARK, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Zannel, Inc., the first large-scale viral mobile entertainment network that provides the easiest way to create, experience and share content on any mobile device, announced today strategic deals that give the Zannel community access to premium artist content via their mobile phones. Through relationships with Eleven Seven Records, which was developed in association with Warner Music Group, and Nettwerk Music Group, Canada's leading privately owned record label and artist management company, Zannel has created dozens of mobile channels comprised of top-tier artist content. Fans can access these channels by visiting www.zannel.com or directly on their mobile phones at wap.zannel.com.
Eleven Seven Records and Nettwerk Music Group chose to partner with Zannel to capitalize on the growing mobile entertainment market and provide a new way for artists to reach out to fans on the device they use everyday. Eleven Seven Records has created viral mobile channels for eight of their top artists, including The Exies, Everclear, Buckcherry and Drowning Pool. Nettwerk Music Group has created more than 40 channels on Zannel for several top bands and musicians, including Dido, Sarah McLachlan, Barenaked Ladies, MC Lars and Guster. Each artist channel is comprised of the latest music videos, album cover art and band photos for distribution across the mobile medium.
"We're excited to have our content available to the Zannel community. We are passionate about our fan base and Zannel gives us a new, personal way to connect with the community," said Scott Stevens, lead vocalist and guitarist of The Exies. "With the uptake in mobile entertainment, it's great to know that our fans have the ability to view and easily share our latest content and behind-the-scenes footage right from their cell phones."
Zannel's Pass it On(TM) and community channel features allow bands and musicians to create a mobile environment where fans can contribute and share videos, photos and comments, providing a personal way for artists and fans to interact. The Exies are uploading exclusive, weekly video diaries from the road into their Zannel channel for users to view and share with friends. Other artists, such as Buckcherry, have been promoting their mobile channels on their own Web sites, community sites and via fan newsletters, rapidly expanding their fan base to a whole new mobile audience. Zannel acts as a powerful promotional tool, and through viral awareness, helps to increase record and concert sales - all without requiring any resource spending on the part of the artist or record label.
"We realize the potential of the mobile market, and our goal is to get as much artist content into these channels as possible without having to dedicate hours to building a mobile media platform," said Josh Scheiner, head of new media at Eleven Seven Records. "By working with Zannel, we're able to instantly increase awareness and fan enthusiasm, and get content in front of millions of people to both promote these artists and create a fun environment that gives fans a new way to connect with their favorite bands."
