TOC Europe 2015: Navis and XVELA to Present on Terminal Automation, Port Performance & Productivity


From June 9-11, 2015, leading marine container terminal executives and supply chain experts will gather in Rotterdam to discuss top challenges and opportunities facing the shipping industry at this year's TOC Europe. Executives from Navis, provider of operational technologies that unlock greater performance and efficiency for the world's leading terminal operators, and XVELA, a cloud-based vessel stowage and collaboration platform for ocean carriers and terminal operators, will participate in several key sessions throughout the event.

Navis' Oscar Pernia, Senior Director of Product Strategy, as well as Christopher Mazza, Chief Customer Officer at XVELA, will share their unique perspectives on topics such as IT and Systems integration, the fture direction of automation, and port performance and productivity in the industry. These sessions are:



1. 11th PEMA State of the Industry Port Equipment & Technology Forum, Panel 2 on IT and Systems Integration (June 9, 1:00 PM) Dr. Oscar Pernia will participate in a panel discussion on how the industry is progressing towards open standards for integration of different software, equipment control systems and process automation technology, and how terminal operators and equipment and technology providers can prepare for the future.

2. Port Performance & Productivity - Lifting the Game (June 10, 10:30 AM): In this session, Christopher Mazza will participate on a panel and present an update on the work Navis and XVELA are doing to improve carrier-terminal collaboration.


3. Next Steps in Terminal Automation (June 10, 1:00 PM) Dr. Oscar Pernia will present in a session focusing on the theme of converting existing manned facilities to automated operations without diminishing service to shipping lines, trucks and trains.

4. The Information Equation: Digitizing Container Operations (June 11, 10:30 AM) During this session, Oscar Pernia and Christopher Mazza will discuss carrier-terminal collaboration and how to harness emerging technologies to drive holistic optimization and network value across the vessel voyage.
