Time Warner Cable Names Rachel Welch Group Vice President, Federal Legislative Affairs
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Time Warner Cable today announced that Rachel Welch will join the company as Group Vice President, Federal Legislative Affairs. She will report to Steven Teplitz, Senior Vice President, Government Relations. Welch will be based in the company's Washington, D.C., public policy office, where she will manage and provide leadership to the federal legislative affairs team.
"Rachel is the perfect person to oversee TWC's federal legislative activities," Teplitz said. "We are fortunate to have her on our team and will benefit considerably from her extensive knowledge and expertise of the cable and communications industry."
Welch began her career in the communications industry over 15 years ago. She is currently Vice President, Global Public Policy at Time Warner Inc., where she is responsible for communications and legislative affairs issues affecting the company. As part of the Global Public Policy team, she assists in developing and implementing Time Warner's policy strategy before Congress on a wide range of communications issues. She works closely with Time Warner's business units including, HBO, Time Warner Cable and Turner Broadcasting.
Prior to joining Time Warner Inc., Welch was Counsel to the Senate Commerce Committee under Senators Inouye and Hollings and was responsible for issues affecting all sectors of the communications industry. In this role, she provided legal analysis and policy guidance to Democratic members of the Committee and their staffs.
