Threat of cyber attacks may rise quickly in CzechRep-intelligence


(Czech News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Threat of cyber attacks may rise quickly in CzechRepintelligence Prague, Oct 31 (CTK) The threat of cyber attacks in the Czech Republic may increase very quickly, the Czech Military Intelligence Service (VZ) writes in its report for 2013 and states that the country faces a mediumlevel threat of its cyber security's violation.



According to VZ, cyber activities will gradually become a tool to push through military and political international influence.

"They may also become a significant part of military conflicts. Some countries will use cyber capacities in their strategies as a potential of deterrence against possible cyber attacks," the VZ writes in the report.


All over the world, the risk of cyber attacks specially targeting countries' key parts of information infrastructure significantly increased in 2013, it writes.

"Common cyber attacks have been gradually replaced with secret, targeted and sophisticated campaigns," VZ adds.

Cyber espionage focusing on political, military and mainly economic information increased in 2013, the report says.

A risk of cyber attacks is also posed by criminal groups and individuals who try to gain money or sensitive information in this way.

The activity of hacktivists, who focus on manipulating the public opinion through protest actions, was low in 2013, VZ writes.
