According to VZ, cyber activities will gradually become a tool to push through military and political international influence. "They may also become a significant part of military conflicts. Some countries will use cyber capacities in their strategies as a potential of deterrence against possible cyber attacks," the VZ writes in the report. All over the world, the risk of cyber attacks specially targeting countries' key parts of information infrastructure significantly increased in 2013, it writes. "Common cyber attacks have been gradually replaced with secret, targeted and sophisticated campaigns," VZ adds. Cyber espionage focusing on political, military and mainly economic information increased in 2013, the report says. A risk of cyber attacks is also posed by criminal groups and individuals who try to gain money or sensitive information in this way.
