Texas Instruments opens new facility in Sugar Land


(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 24 July 2014 Release date- 23072014 - HOUSTON - Texas Instruments (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) today opened its newest facility in Sugar Land, Texas with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the site's 375 employees and introduce the new campus to city officials and the Sugar Land business community.



'We're proud to call Sugar Land our new home. The collaboration between TI, city dignitaries and all those involved in the planning and development of our new facility has truly made us feel like a part of the community,' said Curt Moore, TI Sugar Land site manager. 'Throughout the last five decades, TI Houston sites have been home to some of TI's most significant technological breakthroughs, and we look forward to the opportunities Sugar Land will bring.' Located at the northeast corner of U.S. 59 and University Blvd., the 160,000 square-foot, three-story office will house employees who work in a variety of areas in our Embedded Processing business. The new campus is comprised of many amenities including: an Innovation Center showcasing demos of the latest in TI technology; numerous collaboration spaces; an employee courtyard; outdoor basketball and volleyball courts; and a fitness center and walking path around the building. The new site in Sugar Land will be a critical part of TI's future success.

This year alone, TI is contributing approximately $225,000 to Rice University for research in infrastructure structural sensing and signal processing.
