Telesoft Releases New eBook to Breakdown Recent Trends in Wireless Expense Management

Nov 11, 2010 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- This new eBook specifically addresses some recent news stories that impact an organization's wireless expense management duties," said Thierry Zerbib, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Telesoft. "Our customers, as well as others in the space of telecom expense management, need to be aware of these new rules, recent court rulings, and changes in plan types in order to achieve maximum savings from their TEM programs." Some topics that the eBook discusses include: The Supreme Court Takes On Texting -- A government employee was using his work provided mobile device to send hundreds of personal, sometimes sexually explicit, text messages to his wife, girlfriend and a fellow co-worker. After it was discovered, the employee sued the city government for a violation of their privacy rights under the US Constitution. The case was taken all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and was ruled on earlier this year. Situations like this make the case for organizations to have a sound mobile policy in place to deter lawsuits that can cost thousands, sometimes millions of dollars.

Congress Repeals The Cell Phone Tax - Buried deep within law H.R. 5297 that President Obama signed this year, cell phones are no longer required to be listed property. Under the old tax, employees were required to keep a record of each call, including its business purpose, date, and time in order to separate personal calls from business calls to tax them as a luxury item.

News In Mobile Refunds - Verizon will be issuing the largest refund ever by a provider for a billing error and the FCC is attempting legislation to put an end to mobile "bill shock." The new legislation would require carriers to notify users when they are approaching usage thresholds.

Changes In Mobile Data Plans - Verizon is following AT&T's lead in migrating from unlimited data plans. Given the rapid growth in wireless data usage, carriers are seeking new ways to mitigate some of their network congestion.
