TeleMessage signs agreement with Claro Guatemala to launch Text-to-Landline

Messaging services provider Messaging International Plc has, through
its subsidiary TeleMessage Ltd, signed an agreement with mobile
communications provider Claro Guatemala (Claro), a subsidiary of
America Movil Group, to launch its Text-to Landline service.

According to the company, the Text-to-Landline software enables Claro
wireless customers to create and send a text message to any landline
phone in Guatemala, by converting it to a voice message for the
recipient. The recipient can then respond by voice to the wireless
customer, who will receive the reply message as text. In addition, the
wireless customer will receive a status text message confirming if the
message was delivered directly to a person or to a voicemail system.




Through the agreement, TeleMessage will gain exposure and recognition
in the expanding Latin American telecomms market, the company said.


No financial details were disclosed.
