'Telekom Srbija wins telecoms deal at Belgrade sports event'

Telekom Srbija has provided telecommuncaitions services for this year's
Universiade Belgrade 2009 sports competition. The operator deployed and
maintained the information system in the Sports Village in New
Belgrade. The internet centre installed by Telekom Srbija saw over
6,000 visitors per day. Competitors user the Telekom Srbija telecoms
network to access internet and IPTV services, as well as make voice
calls to their native country. The operator also provided the
participants with internet cafes with virtual computers (thin clients).
Under the terms of the contract, Telekom Srbija provided the network
infrastructure for the headquarters and international building
facilities, with over 1500 ports used for corporate services
(accreditation, internet centres and call centres), IP Centrex (IP
telephony platform enabling providers to lease value-added services),
contact centre and other special services for the needs of the sports
event. The guests also used a fixed telephony service packet, with a
prepaid option. The operator also offered triple-play and dual-play
services, combining IPTV, VoIP, high-speed internet and fixed
telephony. Each of 1858 apartments and 330 premises were connected by
internet ports, offering internet speed of up to 100 Mbps.
