'Telekom Srbija, Media Works win CDMA licences in Serbia'

May 21, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Telekom Srbija and Media Works have won the tender for two licences for fixed wireless access. The licences enable the provision of public telecommunications services in the frequency band 411.875-418.125/421.875-428.125 MHz across Serbia. Four operators, namely Telekom Srbija, KDS, Digi Sat and Media Works, participated in the initial stage of the tender, with a fee of EUR 500,000 per licence.

In the second round, the EUR 540,000 amount was accepted only by Telekom Srbija and Media Works. The licences are valid for 10 years.

Once the licenses enter into force, the tender winners will have to commercially launch the services within six months.
