Teleglobe Exclusively Hosting Hexago's Freenet6 Service for High Quality, Fast IPv6 Connections

HAMILTON, Bermuda --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 4, 2006 -- Teleglobe International Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:TLGB), a leading provider of international telecommunications services to Internet service providers and to fixed and mobile network operators, and Hexago, a leading provider of IPv6 deployment solutions, today announced that Teleglobe is now exclusively hosting Freenet6, Hexago's IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel broker in Montreal.

Since 1999 Freenet6 has been the service of choice for developers in the industry and amongst telecommunication carriers around the world to test their IPv6 implementations in a real network environment. More than 150,000 tunnels have been set up to Freenet6 and continue to expand with the accelerating adoption of IPv6.

"The Freenet6 servers were moved to Teleglobe's network in order to bring Freenet6 closer to a major artery of the global Internet and improve the quality and speed of connections," said Sylvie LaPerriere, Director of Marketing for Teleglobe's Data & IP Services. "The move emphasizes Hexago's continuing support of Freenet6 and Teleglobe's commitment to the IPv6 networking world. We are excited that Hexago has chosen Teleglobe to help them push the IPv6 envelope."

"Teleglobe's reputation for global reach and quality in their IP backbone as well as their IPv6 expertise made it easy for us to choose them to host Freenet6," said Marc Blanchet, CTO, Hexago. "We look forward to continuing the adoption of IPv6 with Teleglobe."

Freenet6, powered by Hexago's Migration Broker, connects users worldwide to the new Internet with cutting-edge features such as a permanent IPv6 address and prefix, as well as DNS registration and reverse delegation. The advanced NAT traversal features of Freenet6 allow users to trial and experience the unique aspects of peer to peer IP communication and mobility. Freenet6 assigns a single IPv6 address and a DNS name to every user, making their PC reachable from anywhere on the IPv6 Internet. A full /48 prefix may also be assigned to a router, enabling the distribution of IPv6 connectivity to an entire network. These capabilities, as well as SNMP monitoring and the ability to authenticate users and fetch address delegation data from a Radius server can be deployed directly by ISP's, Carriers, Government organizations and Enterprises using the Migration Broker within their network.

Teleglobe's global IP network supports a wide variety of advanced data and IP services including global IP transit, international private leased circuits (IPLs), bandwidth capacity, and broadcast services. Teleglobe has ownership in over 100 subsea and terrestrial cable systems and has access to over 40 teleport antennas and transponder capacity serving the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Teleglobe is a global Tier 1 Internet service provider (ISP) and operates the IP backbone AS 6453 which circles the globe. Our MPLS-enabled IP network connects more than 90 countries to the Internet and is supporting IPv6, the new generation IP protocol.
