Telecom Reseller Week at ITEXPO Gives Insider Look into Latest Technologies & Trends

TMC announced today Telecom Reseller Week returns to ITEXPO held January 25-28, 2016 at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. Telecom Reseller Week provides a forum for attendees to learn about cutting edge new technology they can represent, to meet with many new potential partners, and to study proven sales techniques that help improve performance. ITEXPO is the only event dedicated to exploring communications solutions for the enterprise mid-market, resellers and service providers.

"Telecom Reseller Week gives attendees the chance to meet with experts and discuss the latest solutions and take an in-depth look at the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry as a whole," said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), TMC CEO and conference chairman. "This track encourages discussion on the topics relevant for today's resellers and provides an opportunity for significant networking and partnership possibilities."

Telecom Reseller Sessions include:

The Cases for WebRTC

The goal for WebRTC is to build a standard-based real time media engine implemented in all of the available browsers. A browser with WebRTC and a web services application can direct the browser to establish a real time voice or video Real Time Protocol (RTP) connection to another WebRTC device or to a WebRTC media server. You will need platforms and servers to implement the applications. The thousands of use cases for WebRTC are wide ranging from customer service to health care to emergency notifications.

Conferencing and Collaboration Keep Growing: How Can You Grow with It?

Today, sharing and collaborating are strategies for getting ahead. Employees expect be able to access, share and discover information in real time to move things forward. People may not always be in the same room when they collaborate with one another, but that doesn't mean they can't contribute virtually, working as a team towards a common goal.

Security Tools and Techniques

Protection, detection, and resolution are the themes of cybersecurity today. Most people don't know that the average time to discover a sophisticated intrusion is 205 days. Complex security can motivate users to try and circumvent the security controls. Protection cannot interfere with productivity. The latest breach discovery tools investigate what is resident in the endpoints. Another set of tools monitors and analyzes behavior to look for patterns that are related to security behavior. The software looks for normal and then abnormal behavior to discover malicious behavior.

Securing the Network

Where does security fit into IT and communications strategy for businesses today? What are they doing well? Where do they need help and what opportunities does this open for you and how can you leverage the latest tools and techniques to give your clients the peace of mind they need to be able to run their businesses successfully?

SIP Trunking Success

If there is any theme in IT today; it is a flat or reduced IT budget. One budget candidate is implementing SIP trunking and retiring the T1 and PRI carrier connections. SIP trunking can, in most cases, produce enough savings to warrant the change. Although SIP trunks have been around for years, they still have problems, based on the 2015 SIP Survey by The SIP School™, which you will learn about in this presentation. The proliferation of SIP trunking makes the bandwidth calculations for those SIP trunks an issue that the IT organization must resolve. Too much capacity and money is wasted. Too little capacity and calls will be blocked, callers will abandon the call, the enterprise agents will be less productive, and the enterprise's reputation for service may be harmed.

Leveraging Cloud Services in the SMB

What are the key business trends driving the use of cloud services and what new opportunities does that present for your business? How can you leverage the proliferation of cloud-based UCC and PBXs and create a revenue model by delivering business apps in the cloud? What does the evolution of on-premises to cloud mean for resellers and their end users?

State of IoT

As the devices that are Internet connected increase, so does the impact of all of these devices on the network. An estimated 6 billion+ connected devices will affect most manufacturers and service providers. This has fostered the Industrial Internet. The manufacturers will change their business model to one where services may be more profitable that the products they produce. Service providers, both wired and wireless, will have to accept that each Internet location may have dozens of Internet addresses that produce only modest amounts of traffic but will be always on. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee (News - Alert), and Trends as wireless technologies are explored. Cell services are becoming popular for IoT transmissions. Can the cell providers keep up? What will they charge?
