Telecom Industry Veteran R. Gerard Salemme Joins Taqua's Board of Directors

Taqua (News - Alert)®, LLC, a leading supplier of mobile and fixed communications solution, announced today that R. Gerard "Gerry" Salemme has joined the company's Board of Directors as well as become a minority investor in the company.

Mr. Salemme has over 30 years of telecommunications experience in both the private and public sectors, having served in management leadership positions and on the board of directors for a variety of leading telecom companies including McCaw Cellular, Clearwire (News - Alert), XO Communications, and Earthlink.

Since 1997, Mr. Salemme has been a partner in Eagle River Holdings, Inc., a private investment firm formed by Craig McCaw. He has been involved in telecommunications investment and strategy for Eagle River portfolio companies, including, XO Communications, Clearwire, ICO and Pendrell. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Pendrell Corporation and Earthlink (News - Alert) Holdings as well as serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for RECON Dynamics, LLC, a privately held company offering wireless asset management solutions. He also held senior executive positions with various telecommunications companies including AT&T Corporation, Sprint (News - Alert) and McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. In the public sector, Mr. Salemme served as Senior Telecommunications Policy Analyst for the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance, and as Chief of Staff to Congressman Ed Markey of Massachusetts. Mr. Salemme holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics, and an M.A. in Economics from Boston College.
