Tele2 Selects Comverse MMSC and Mobile Internet Gateway to Enhance Multimedia and Content Service Capabilities throughout Europe
WAKEFIELD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, today announced that Tele2 (Stockholm: TEL2B.ST), one of Europe's leading alternative telecom operators, has selected Comverse MMSC and Mobile Internet Gateway to enhance multimedia messaging and content services for its 24 million customers in 11 countries.
One of the reasons for Tele2's selection of Comverse is its comprehensive multi-operator MMSC environment for multiple-country systems and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Comverse MMSC enables several mobile operators to share the same hardware and infrastructure components while enjoying service differentiation through application customization. The MVNO configuration provides high server utilization and added flexibility and choice to better match the specific needs of multinational groups such as Tele2.
By broadly expanding the role of MMS in applications and promotions, Comverse MMSC can spur distribution of public content and stimulate sharing of personal content. Comverse Mobile Internet Gateway can manage growing mobile data traffic for all subscribers and devices, provide an array of advanced data services in a modular offering, and give operators strong centralized capabilities: access control, user management and more.
"Comverse MMSC and Mobile Internet Gateway benefit operators by increasing capacity and laying the groundwork for exciting new best-in-class services, including music, video, games and mobile commerce. Comverse has emerged as a leader in the new generation of MMS platforms, as evidenced by the dozens of deployments, including where Comverse has successfully replaced or enhanced incumbent MMSCs," said Dror Bin, Group President of the Comverse Products Organization at Comverse.
