Tekelec Is the Front Runner in Emerging Diameter Signaling Market, Says Infonetics Research
MORRISVILLE, NC, Feb 14, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Tekelec, the mobile broadband solutions company, is the "front
runner" in the emerging Diameter signaling control market according
to Infonetics Research's first report on the space. Tekelec achieved
this position with key customer wins in North America, and the report
states that, "Tekelec will continue to be a formidable competitor"
because of incumbency among large operators.
Infonetics Research published its findings in the new report
"Diameter Signaling Control: Annual Worldwide and Regional Market
Size and Forecasts." The firm forecasts a 106% compound annual growth
rate (CAGR) for the Diameter signaling market through 2016, with
North America generating the most revenue of any region each year of
the forecast period.
"We expect to see rapid uptake of Diameter signaling solutions as
operators roll out LTE and see the impact of increased Diameter
traffic on their networks. Operators need to prepare for the
signaling storm of new subscribers, smart devices, new applications
and personalized data plans," said Diane Myers, directing analyst,
Infonetics Research. "Tekelec is the market leader in Diameter
signaling thanks to customer validation like that from Verizon
Wireless combined with its global signaling expertise."
The report calls Tekelec "an early mover in the Diameter signaling
controller space." In addition to Verizon Wireless, the company has
announced MetroPCS and another tier one U.S. LTE provider as
customers of its Diameter Signaling Router.
