Teen Road To Safety Expands in California

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Andrew Wunderlich realized the need to go beyond the basics taught in average driving schools as a rookie police officer when he was called to the scene of his first traffic collision. Two 16 year olds had been on their way back from a date when they were hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light. Both teenagers died; the drunk driver was unharmed. And one of the paramedics on the scene was the father of the young girl killed.

As an LAPD officer, Andrew discovered a passion for traffic enforcement. He trained police recruits in defensive driving techniques and became a drug recognition expert, mastering the art and science of detecting alcohol in drivers as well as prescription and illegal drugs.

After a 21 year career as an LAPD police officer, Wunderlich retired and decided to combine a career dedicated to safe driving with his passion for keeping teens safe and providing parents with peace of mind. In 2003, he launched Teen Road to Safety (TRTS).

WHAT TRTS provides an advanced training program to assist teens to become better drivers. Instructors are current or retired police officers or California Highway Patrol officers. TRTS's closed-course driver's training specializes in teaching defensive driving methods to teens with its EVOC-inspired track. (The Emergency Vehicle Operations Course used by police officers in their own training.)

TRTS has served over 45,000 teens and grown to 5 locations in California. All TRTS franchise locations are sponsored by local Ford Dealerships. "Our partnership with Ford enables us to provide entrepreneurs ith a viable business opportunity that offers low overhead costs and tremendous marketing support backed by a known brand." states Andrew. "Driver training experience is not required. Our franchisees success is our success and we back that up with on-going training and support."

WHO Andrew Wunderlich will be on hand to answer questions about the TRTS franchise opportunity.
