''Team Napster'' Action Sports-Themed Media Debuts on Napster Ringtones; Exclusive Athlete Shout Outs, Action Sports-Themed Ringtones and Wallpapers Added to Service Powered by Dwango Wireless

LOS ANGELES & SEATTLE --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 16, 2005 -- Napster (Nasdaq:NAPS), the biggest brand in digital music, announced today that it will expand its Napster ringtone service, powered by Dwango Wireless (OTCBB:DWGN), to feature content from members of "Team Napster," the high-profile group of action sports athletes the company sponsors. The new content includes exclusive shout outs from Team Napster snowboarder Marc Frank Montoya, Supercross/Motocross racer Kevin Windham and freestyle motocross rider Adam Jones, as well as a new line of action sports-themed ringtones and wallpapers. The new offerings will debut at the Portland stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour (August 18 - 21), where Team Napster athletes Ryan Nyquist and Adam Jones will be competing.

"The beauty of our collaboration with the members of Team Napster is the opportunities we create for the fans to show their passion for a particular action sport and interact with the athletes beyond the particular venue of the sport or competition," said Brad Duea, president of Napster. "Marc Frank Montoya and Adam Jones laying down shout outs is just the latest example of how the athletes are integrated into the Napster service in a way that allows fans to interact with them and for athletes and fans alike to showcase their personal style and energy."

"We are extremely excited to introduce fans of the Dew Action Sports Tour to mobile media content of their favorite professional action sport athletes," said Alexander U. Conrad, president, COO and interim CEO of Dwango Wireless. "Napstertones allows fans to personalize their mobile phones and relive their memories of Team Napster and the Dew Action Sports Tour wherever they go."

Napster is leveraging Team Napster's visibility during the summer action sports season to introduce the Napster subscription service and Napstertones content to action sports fans all over the country at events featuring freestyle motocross, BMX and snowboarding. Fans receive codes redeemable for free Napstertones ringtones as well as 14-day trial memberships for the award-winning digital music service when they stop by the mobile Napster Environment booth located at Dew Action Sports Tour stops.

Napster created the Napster Environment to offer visitors an up-close-and-personal experience with the Napster service and related music-centric products. Visitors can listen to personalized Napster To Go(TM) playlists created by Team Napster members Ryan Nyquist, Adam Jones and Gretchen Bleiler and email the playlists to themselves for listening at home or on the go when they activate a free membership trial of Napster or Napster To Go. The Napster Environment features internet connectivity with top-of-the-line computers enabling access to Napster's million-plus song catalog so that visitors can take a break from the sun and cool off with the hottest music from today and years gone by.

Every visitor who sends themselves a Team Napster playlist also receives a coupon for a free ringtone from Napstertones.com, powered by Dwango. A dedicated page on the Napstertones website -- www.Napstertones.com/dast -- will be used to showcase the full Team Napster action sports-themed content for fans visiting the Napster Environment at the remaining Dew Action Sports Tour and can also be accessed when they return home.
