Tatara Systems Chooses Continuous Computing's Software for Femtocell Convergence Solution
Nov 09, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Tatara Systems, a company specializing in SIP-based femtocell convergence, announced the selection of Continuous Computing's Trillium MAP IS-41 protocol stack to be employed within its femtocell convergence solution, the Tatara Convergence Server (TCS) for CDMA networks.
The company said the Tatara Convergence Server solution enables the interconnection of femtocells and other technology IP-based radio network elements with the legacy macro wireless network, providing the full mobile voice, messaging and data experience in an IP environment supporting both VoIP and IMS networks. The TCS capabilities include authentication of the mobile subscribers, handoff between femtocells and the macro network, emergency and supplementary services, as well as delivering new IP-based applications to existing mobile handsets without modifying or disrupting the existing macro network, the company said.
"Continuous Computing's industry-proven Trillium MAP IS-41 protocol stack is the foundation of much of today's deployed CDMA networks," said Manish Singh, vice president of product line management for Continuous Computing. "The Trillium MAP IS-41 stack ensures interoperability and complies with the latest standards supporting a wide array of IS41 based services. We are delighted that Tatara Systems has picked the Trillium MAP IS-41 stack for its femtocell solution."
"Continuous Computing was chosen due to their compliance, deployment history, and notable references," said E.Y. Snowden, president and chief executive officer for Tatara Systems. "As early innovators in the femtocell market, we strive to ensure complete interoperability and reliability within our solutions."
