T-Mobile and Huawei complete testing of LTE self-organising network

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Telecoms network solutions provider Huawei announced on Tuesday it has completed the world's first test for LTE self-organising network (SON) with mobile operator T-Mobile in Innsbruck, Austria.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, the test uses T-Mobile's existing eNodeBs and aims at verifying the functionality of Automatic Neighbour Relation (ANR) in Huawei's SON solution. The results show high successful handover rate and demonstrate that the SON solution can automatically establish and optimise the neighbour relations.

The solution provides operators the ability to configure, optimise and recover automatically, enabling them to achieve operational cost savings associated with network planning, network deployment and network optimisation.
