SurfSolo from SecurStar: a Cloak of Invisibility for Internet Surfers
MUNICH, Germany --(Business Wire)--
"Moving around" on the Internet usually leads to traces being automatically left indicating where one has been - unless adequate protection is taken to prevent this. Surf around the World Wide Web incognito, without being "watched" - this is what the IT security specialist SecurStar (www.securstar.com) enables with its SurfSolo software. The software provides anonymity on the web as the user cannot be identified or monitored. The functionality is now being enhanced with a new proxy security server in Germany providing additional security as of January.
The NSA is authorized by executive order to monitor, without warrants, phone calls, e-mails, Internet activity, and text messaging, and other communication involving any party believed by the NSA to be outside the U.S., even if the other end of the communication lies within the U.S. With traditional and unprotected data traffic, an enquiry resulting from the entry of an Internet address is sent directly from the user's PC to the target computer and is saved there, as decreed by the law. By matching the addresses and user data it is possible to assign each activity to a corresponding PC and its real location - even months later. The encryption software SurfSolo from SecurStar counteracts the "glass surfer" effect by means of a principle that is very straightforward for the user.
The software works like a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) and is designed especially for private users. The online traffic is encrypted and the IP addresses of users are changed or new IP addresses are allocated that cannot be traced back to the user. If someone tries to trace the location of the user, rather than being able to find the correct location in, for example, Germany, the search will take them unsuccessfully to Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Switzerland, USA or somewhere else where a SecurStar server is located. All web activities are protected and all data packets are encrypted with the AES-256-Bit (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm. The speed of the Internet connection will not be significantly impaired (depending on the type of connection and the download rate). The system is simple to operate and works completely in the background.
New, lightning fast proxy server provides anonymity
From January onwards, a new server will be added in Germany to the worldwide array of servers from which SecurStar customers can choose between. In comparison with traditional anonymizers, the German SurfSolo server is up to ten times faster. For users wanting to move around the web while being protected by the highest level of security, it is also possible to link several servers in succession; the software thereby provides protection from the most modern monitoring techniques.
Main Characteristics of SurfSolo:
- anonymous web browsing activities
- secure tunneling service (SSH2)
- powerful AES-256-bit encryption
- secure and private e-mail accounts
- secure and private newsgroup access
- secure and private instant messaging and chat
- P2P-compatible

SurfSolo costs 69.95 Euro and can be downloaded from www.securstar.com.
