Sudan : SUDATEL H1 profit hits USD 233 mln [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sudatel, a Sudanese mobile operator, has announced USD 233 million of consolidated revenue in the first half and 11.2 million total active subscribers at the end of the period. Sudatel is also present in Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea and Ghana. EBITDA obtained USD 75 million, 17 percent more than in the first half of 2012. Net profit raised to USD 28 million, yielding USD 0.024 EPS, versus EPS 0.003 in the first half of 2012. Operations in Sudan accounted or 66 percent of the group s active subscribers, 56 percent of revenue. EBITDA grew 5 percent to USD 48 million and net profit rose by 41 percent to USD 24 million. Sudatel West Africa registered its first net profit since start-up, due to higher efficiency levels in Mauritania, a change in marketing strategy in Senegal, stabilisation efforts in Guinea and fewer loss in Ghana, as the group delivers the operation to a new buyer.
