StreamBase Expands NYC Office to Support Financial Services Sales Growth; StreamBase Extends New York City Footprint To Further Serve The Complex Event Processing Needs Of Wall Street's Investment Community

BOSTON --(Business Wire)-- May 10, 2006 -- StreamBase Systems, Inc., the provider of award-winning enterprise-class stream processing software designed to transform real-time complex events into instantaneous competitive advantage, today announced further expansion of its East Coast U.S. operations with the opening of a larger New York City office. The upgraded space, located at 845 Third Avenue, will serve as the company's New York Hub for its local sales organization and expanded client services and support teams.

Over the last twelve months, StreamBase's adoption within financial services has rapidly accelerated as a result of the increasing demand for its market-leading software platform. StreamBase's stream processing software empowers financial services companies to profit from real-time business opportunities in areas such as, enterprise risk management, algorithmic trading, pre-trade compliance, transaction cost analysis, and market data processing.

"We are working with the top exchanges, investment banks, and hedge funds in the U.S. to provide the critical infrastructure and applications that help them profit from real-time market data," said Barry Morris, president and CEO of StreamBase. "Our New York City expansion increases the number of resources we have dedicated to further fuel our leadership position, while also helping our customers leverage StreamBase's capabilities into new divisions and additional firms."

The StreamBase Stream Processing Engine combined with its next-generation programming language, StreamSQL(TM), uniquely solves real-time data management problems with an infrastructure platform for capturing, integrating, and reacting to streaming data, at speeds up to hundreds of thousands of messages per second. With StreamBase, financial services firms can build high-performance, low-latency applications that process and analyze data as fast as it arrives--and these applications can be built within days and in some cases, even hours.

"Financial services is a highly competitive market that relies upon innovative, enterprise-class technologies, such as StreamBase, to secure differentiation," said Ivan O'Sullivan, senior vice president, field operations of StreamBase. "We've made significant traction in supporting some of the most sophisticated, mission-critical projects within this industry. Our expanded presence in New York is a testament to the value Wall Street clients have achieved with StreamBase over the last year."

This year, StreamBase has also made its presence in New York well known by exhibiting and speaking at the TradeTech USA 2006 and the 2006 Trading Technology Conference. In addition, the company headlines the Securities Industry Association's (SIA) Technology Management Conference from June 20th - 22nd at New York's Hilton Hotel, 1335 Avenue of the Americas. StreamBase's Vice President of Marketing, Bill Hobbib, is also a guest speaker at the General Meeting & Reception of the Financial Information Services Division (FISD) of the SIA on June 22nd at the New York Mercantile Exchange in New York City.
