Stream Communications introduces 3G 'freeflow' routers for broadcast communications and backhaul; Low cost, long reach, resilient connectivity for broadcasters; Improved download speeds of up to 50%

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Stream Communications (Stream), announces the launch of freeflow, a new extra fast 3G service, supported by two dedicated Stream 3G freeflow routers for broadcast mobile communications and backhaul. Installed in outside broadcast vehicles, Stream 3G freeflow routers optimise 3G routing and WiFi connectivity. Production crews running a freeflow 3G SIM will be able to experience a vastly improved service experience, both in terms of reliability and speed. Teams using freeflow will experience web page download rates over Stream's 3G network up to 50% faster than could be experienced from a typical 'consumer' 3G SIM.

This is the first time a premium grade 3G Service has been teamed with dedicated high quality routers in the UK. Because of the way Stream manages the connection between the router and the mobile network, broadcasters can experience overall faster service for up to 80% of their total connected browsing time, with higher capacity and longer reach.

Nigel Chadwick, founding Director of Stream Communications said: "For outside and live broadcast teams, keeping in contact with the studio is critical. Stream recognises the value of service reliability, capacity and speed, creating the de facto mobile 3G service for a vastly improved experience both in terms of speed and connection up-time." Two freeflow routers will be available from launch; a low cost, resilient, fully customisable entry level product, and a highly intelligent router offering high capacity and long reach. Bonded 3G for mobile backhaul Additionally, Stream provides broadcasters with access to the company's enhanced mobile network via its M2M SIM cards and a platform which is able to deliver reliable 3G bonded broadcast solutions. By taking a series of Stream SIM cards - offering Network Diversity across carriers in the UK - broadcasters are able to utilise and multiply the bandwidth from each so they can be treated as a single high bandwidth connection capable of delivering speeds of up to 20mb/s over 3G.

With six Stream 3G SIMS bonded and optimised for maximum video quality based, accessible bandwidth can be as high as 30Mbps. That is more than capable of supporting a live 1080HD video stream to deliver a satellite-equivalent broadcast experience.

"Outside broadcast depends on the resilience and quality of connection back to the studio. The enhanced 3G network offers a mature, vast, reliable, and stable alternative to satellite," said Chadwick.

About Stream Stream is the UK's most innovative M2M network service provider. The company has provided enhanced mobile network resilience, connectivity and SIM/network management to the M2M sector since 2000.
