(Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HOUSE OF MARLEY BAG OF RHYTHM pounds 299 *** Coinciding with a big screen documentary about Bob Marley, this iPod-docking boombox comes from a range of audio products bearing the reggae legend's name.

With unique khaki trim, the range sets itself apart with its ethical stance using sustainable materials throughout the line and a percentage of profits goes to the Marleyfamily supported charity 1Love.org.

With a big nod to old-school ghetto blasters, as its name suggests, the Bag Of Rhythm comes with a durable canvas carry bag. Made from sustainable birch wood and recycled plastic, it sports twin oneinch tweeters and twin four-inch high-definition woofers - and it weighs a bulky 15lbs (6.8kg).


With the brand's environmental stance, it's a bit disappointing the unit needs six D-cell batteries for portable operation, with a recycled battery pack available only as an optional extra. As unit ble pack. As expected, the unit's output is tuned for low-end sounds, blasting out Kingston's finest with impressively fat and warm bass. But it lacks versatility. Play classical or acoustic tunes and the huge bottom end is often overpowering.

Combined with the scant features (at this price you'd probably be expecting Airplay or Bluetooth wireless functionality and a remote control), you have a device that will certainly have you jamming, yet falls a little short.
