SRI LANKA'S LANKA BELL, NTB IN ONLINE PAYMENTS DEAL


COLOMBO, Jan 27, 2009 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) --
Lanka Bell, a Sri Lankan fixed
line telephone company, said it has tied up with Nations Trust
Bank to offer an online card payment facility to its customers
through the company's web portal.
Lanka Bell said in a statement that payments can be made by
its more than one million subscribers using American Express
credit cards issued in Sri Lanka solely by Nations Trust
Bank.
"Online payments have quickly replaced traditional modes and
are fast, easy and efficient," it said.
"American Express Internet Payment Gateway comes with the


highest possible internet security with a 128-bit SSL (Secure
Socket Layer) VeriSign Verified connection."
Online payment gateways supported by American Express cards
are also available for movie tickets, insurance payments,
channeling doctors, airline tickets with SriLankan Airlines.
The facility can also be used for phone bill payments with
other operators, Suntel and Sri Lanka Telecom, as well as
Keells Super shopping.
