Speedware Partners with Lead Point on Xframe
(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Speedware, a subsidiary of Activant Solutions and a provider of IT
modernization solutions and productivity tools, announced an alliance
with Lead Point to introduce Xframe to the North American mainframe
market.
According to the company, Lead Point is the North American distributor
of Xframe, a re-hosting software tool designed to migrate mainframe
applications to newer, more flexible platforms. Xframe was developed by
HTWC, a technology company located in Rome, Italy.
"As our mainframe modernization business grows, the Xframe product will
become an important addition to our portfolio of migration tools," said
Christine McDowell, Speedware's Strategic Alliance Manager. "Our
mainframe customers want to reduce their maintenance costs and Xframe
is the ideal solution. Xframe also has some unique differentiators over
its competitors, such as the completeness of the solution and the
ability to offer a Windows re-hosting option, in addition to the other
UNIX platforms that Xframe supports."
Due to their reliability and high performance, mainframe computers are
still used by many companies to run their core business applications.
However, organizations are realizing that it is both risky and costly
to continue doing business on older legacy systems. With Xframe, the
company noted, legacy applications can be re-hosted on systems running
UNIX, Linux or Windows while maintaining full functionality and
business logic. Re-hosting on open systems can also offer significant
cost savings while providing a platform that can easily be extended to
meet changing business needs. As an Xframe reseller, Speedware will be
providing mainframe customers with integration services as well as
first-line support for the Xframe product, the company said.
"We are very excited about working with Speedware to introduce Xframe
to the North American market. We believe it is one of the most
technologically advanced re-hosting tools on the market," said Sean
Murphy, Chief Marketing Officer of Lead Point. "Speedware has more than
30 years of modernization experience, industry-certified customer
support, and a 100 percent project success rate. Like Lead Point,
Speedware also adheres to a strict standard of making customer success
a priority. As a result of our alliance, North American mainframe
customers can benefit from the most complete mainframe re-hosting
solution on the market today."
