S&P Capital IQ Initiates Coverage on Xplore Technologies Corp. in Standard & Poor's Factual Stock Reports
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--
S&P Capital IQ announced today that it has commenced Standard
& Poor's Factual Stock Report coverage on Xplore Technologies Corp.
Xplore Technologies (News - Alert) Corp. (OTCQB: XLRT) is engaged in the business of
developing, integrating and marketing rugged mobile wireless PC
computing systems. The company's products enable the extension of
traditional computing systems to a range of field and on-site personnel,
regardless of location or environment. Compatible with a range of
wireless communication options, Xplore's computing products enable
end-users to receive, collect, analyze, manipulate and transmit
information in a variety of environments not suited to traditional
computing devices. The company's end-users are in the following markets:
utilities, telecommunications, warehousing/logistics, public safety,
field service, transportation, oil and gas, manufacturing, route
delivery, military and homeland security.
The company's family of tablet personal computer (PC) systems can be
fitted with a range of performance-matched accessories, including
multiple docking station solutions, wireless connectivity alternatives,
global positioning system modules, biometric, and smartcard modules, as
well as traditional peripherals, such as keyboards, mice, and cases.
Xplore supports up to 160GB Solid State Drive (SSD). In addition, Xplore
tablets have the only tool-less access to the (SSD) in the market making
it quick and easy to swap drives for storage, or OS within minutes.
Using the company's industrial strength mounts, the tablets can be
mounted on motorcycles, watercraft, vehicles, helicopters, forklifts,
tanks, carts, or walls. The tablets are designed to handle water, dust,
debris, salt, vibration and extreme temperatures. In contrast to laptops
that have display hinges tat can crack when dropped, and that are prone
to overheating and can't be viewed well in direct sunlight, the company
says their tablets can be dropped, hosed off if necessary with their IP
67 rating, and that the screens are viewable in direct sunlight.
In January 2012, Xplore launched a new line of docking systems offering
the best durability and lightweight installation options. Designed
specifically to withstand the shocks and vibrations associated with
mounting a tablet on vehicles or forklifts, the docking system is
equipped with a tamper-proof key lock for securing the tablet while
docked.
The company was founded in 1997 and is based in Austin, Texas.
