Zwana enters the role with over a decade of experience in the film industry after starting out as a production assistant for television drama and later emerging as line producer for feature films and long form television drama. She held her earlier role as production and development manager for fiction at the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), for three and a half years. Her responsibilities at the NFVF included monitoring and assessing projects that had received funding for either development or production and so she sees her new position as a natural progression. Zwana said : "I am pleased that I will still be involved in the industry and will get the chance to follow the progress of the many filmmakers that I began interactions with whilst at the NFVF." She added : "Many first time or emerging filmmakers are unsure of the role of a completion guarantor, and in keeping with my passion for development in the industry, I intend to make sure that all filmmakers understand and appreciate the need for this and have the access they need to make use of this service as a means of becoming more credible and more reliable filmmakers."
