Prior to joining SOASTA, Gran was a partner at Sierra Ventures, an early-stage technology focused venture capital firm, where he successfully expanded the performance of the overall portfolio in support of early market adoption for Sierra Venture's investments. Gran has also held leadership positions that span a number of industry segments, including investing in early stage technology companies, launching channels and indirect sales models, and leading business and corporate development for industry leaders like IBM (News - Alert) and Oracle.

"Gamiel's appointment comes at a critical time for SOASTA and represents exciting things to come for our company," said Lounibos. "As we enter our next phase of growth, Gamiel will be working closely with SOASTA's senior leadership to execute on key strategic initiatives. His exerience in corporate development, including leadership roles at companies such as BEA (News - Alert), Edify, Cassatt, and Appcelerator, will be a valuable resource for SOASTA moving forward."

Gran brings years of experience in working with CIOs on delivering business values with new technologies. In his role at Sierra Ventures, he drives thought leadership efforts with the long standing CIO Advisory Board. The CIO advisory board brings together over 100 forward thinking CIOs to discuss the most powerful new technologies and their impact on their businesses.

"I'm excited to bring answers to today's issues for CIOs with my new role at SOASTA. CIO's today are under pressure like never before to both transform IT operations while providing the highest quality solutions. Well-tested software with in-depth performance and business analytics are now essential for all CIOs. No CIO wants to be on the cover of the WSJ with a failed website launch or outage -- from the federal government to fast-growing ecommerce sites -- quality testing is required."

Gran also serves as a board member and advisor for early stage companies and leads a CIO Thought Leadership and Innovation advisory board with the goal of identifying early stage technologies. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events such as the Global CIO Summit, SVForum, Forbes, SiliconAngel, Strata Summit, Forbes, and CITOResearch. Gran holds a B.A. in Economics and Social Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
