Smartmatic and Green Bit Selected to Supply Biometric Enrollment Solution to Mexico

Smartmatic, a world leader in technology solutions for Governments, and Italy based Green Bit SpA, a leading supplier of FBI certified Livescan systems, proudly announced their joint efforts to provide a biometric enrollment solution for the Mexican Federal Election Institute (IFE).

Smartmatic, a specialist in Electoral and Identity Management solutions partnered with Green Bit to offer a live fingerprint scanner for this project. More than 1,300 DactyScan84n have been delivered to the Mexican authorities in charge of deploying the devices throughout the country to biometrically register voters.

The initiative, currently undertaken by the Federal Election Institute, will bring enormous benefits to a vast number of Mexican voters," said Antonio Mugica, CEO of Smartmatic. After challenging technical tests, the Green Bit DactyScan84n was found to be fully compliant with the ambitious specifications set by the IFE and eventually chosen over other competitors. The DactyScan84n is an FBI IAFIS IQS Appendix F certified 10-print Livescan already used in many countries for Government ID and Law Enforcement projects.
