Significant Battery-Related Offerings - Including Pioneering Rechargeable Battery Patent and 1800Battery Brand - For Sale at Ocean Tomo's October 30th Auction in Chicago
CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- Ocean Tomo Auctions, LLC today announced it will offer for sale in its upcoming Live Intellectual Property Auction some unique and rarely available assets pertinent to the battery industry. Being sold as Lots 47j and 71 respectively, they include the 1800Battery Brand and an innovative rechargeable battery patent. The auction will be held at the Chicago Cultural Center on October 30th.
The 1800Battery brand includes the 800-Battery.com domain, multiple related domains, and the rights to obtain the rights to the corresponding 1-800-Battery toll free telephone number(1). "The acquisition of this brand is a key opportunity for any business involved in battery manufacturing, distribution or usage. As one of the former leading telecommunications entrepreneurs in the Midwest, I've personally witnessed 800 number related brands evolve businesses into levels they thought they would never achieve. US Patent 6,208,115, or Lot 71, includes claims which address a fundamental shift in the way power is transported into mobile devices worldwide. The claims address a wireless and contactless charging solution where the electronics are packaged within the battery pack itself. "When considering the billions spent on research and development each year in the mobile industry on portable power solutions, this approach to wireless and contactless charging is simply the better, faster and cheaper way to go. This application should eventually wind up as the power interface for mobile devices, cameras, power tools and other portable electronic devices." Forward citing companies include Alticor Inc., Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, Microsoft Corporation and Motorola, Inc.
