Siget issues regulation for NP in El Salvador [New Vision (Uganda)]

(New Vision (Uganda) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) El Salvador's Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (Siget) has issued the regulation for number portability (NP), El Mundo reports. Siget head Blanca Coto said that the firm which will administrate the country's number portability data base will be selected before the end of the year. According to a previous schedule issued by the regulator, the firm was initially expected to be selected in August. Siget said it expects mobile number portability to be officially launched in February 2015. Number portability in the country was approved through a decree in 2010 but was never implemented. Mobile operators in the country are Tigo, Movistar, Claro and Digicel.
