Siemens Canada Named Official Supplier of TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games


(Canada Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Global technology company to provide medical imaging equipment TORONTO, Aug. 21, 2014 /CNW/ - Siemens Canada is bringing its state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment to the TORONTO 2015 Games, ensuring the region's top athletes will have access to vital information needed for rapid diagnosis and therapy.



As the Official Supplier of Medical Imaging Equipment for the Games, Siemens will help outfit the Polyclinic at the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletes' Village, which will provide high-quality imaging to the health-care team looking after more than 10,000 athletes and officials in the summer of 2015.

The equipment will include both portable and fixed digital X-ray equipment and ultrasound machines. Every year, imaging systems from Siemens are used in almost a billion examinations around the world.


Joining the Games as a sponsor is a first for the global technology company, which has operated in Canada for more than a century. Siemens Canada, which is a subsidiary of the multinational engineering and electronics company Siemens AG, has 4,500 employees in 46 offices and 18 manufacturing/assembly facilities across Canada.
