Securian Financial Appoints Vice President of Human Resources and New Chief Diversity Officer


Securian Financial has named Kristi L. Fox vice president of human resources and Dexter D. Davis chief diversity officer and senior director of talent management.

As vice president, Kristi Fox now leads all areas of Securian Financial human resources, including compensation and benefits, talent acquisition and development, employee relations, and diversity and inclusion.

Fox has been with Securian Financial since 1995 after graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She joined the company's human resources department in 2017 to lead talent management and serve as the company's first chief diversity officer. Under her leadership, Securian Financial has strengthened its ability to attract, develop and retain the talent needed to achieve its strategic business objectives.

Prior to working in human resources, Fox held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within Securian Financial's business lines-most recentl as a vice president with the company's Group Insurance business, where she worked with large employers' human resources professionals on their workplace benefit plans. Fox earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in 2002 and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) certification from the American College of Financial Services in 2014. She was a member of the Children's Museum of Minnesota's board of directors from 2010 to 2016.



Dexter Davis is Securian Financial's new chief diversity officer and senior director of talent management. His focus includes furthering the momentum of Securian Financial's diversity and inclusion efforts and strengthening the company's talent acquisition and development initiatives.

Davis joined Securian Financial in 2015 as director of enterprise procurement and became a member of the company's diversity council. His background includes more than 15 years of professional experience with Ecolab, General Mills and Target (News - Alert). Davis has a bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University, a master's degree in counseling psychology from Saint Mary's University and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
