SECNAP Adds New Email Archiving to Email Security Gateway Powered by SpammerTrap

Feature Enhances User Convenience, Facilitates Regulatory Compliance

Boca Raton, Fla. - August 14, 2008 - SECNAP® Network Security Corporation today announced addition of the newest feature to its award-winning Email Security Gateway (News - Alert) Powered by SpammerTrap®. The Email Archiving enhancement enables clients to archive both incoming and outgoing mail, and is compatible with virtually all messaging systems including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and Novell (News - Alert) GroupWise.

Available with ENT- and GEM-model gateway appliances as well as Premier-level hosted service, Email Archiving provides user-convenient archiving with optional remote storage through add-on hot-swap storage or network-attached storage (NAS). Separate configurations are available for incoming and outgoing messages, with access to archiving functionality limited to client site administrators to preserve security.

Retrieval of archived messages is a breeze for busy administrators thanks to a simple query screen with options to search by sender, recipient, subject or date range. Messages may be reviewed individually and resent to the original recipient or alternate address, and archive reports may be viewed online or via link.

Compliance with federal regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires that certain types of email records be protected from deletion and retrievable using specific search criteria. The Email Archiving feature facilitates compliance and enhances user peace of mind, according to SECNAP chief technology officer, Michael Scheidell.

Offered through the SECNAP channel partner network, the Email Security Gateway Powered by SpammerTrap leads the industry in effectively blocking spam through a unique combination of 40 real-time blacklists, a message sender filter that leverages four separate reputation databases, heuristics filtering, and a sophisticated, highly efficient firewall. This function-rich solution was dubbed the "King of Spam Filters" by SC Magazine in May and won the Best Product of 2008 award in the Anti-Spam category from Network Products Guide in July.
